I am not sure what the standardized practice is, but there is usually some fine print on the front of the label letting you know the meat has water or solution added. At a minimum, it would need to list the ingredients on the back of the package. Even chicken labeled 100% natural can have these solutions, so if you are watching your salt, be sure to read the ingredient labels on all your foods. Thanks for asking!

I hope enough people will see this, so they don't feel guilty when their results don't match up to the latest headlines. It takes a lot of hard work to take weight off, and keep it off, and that is just a fact.

Justine,

Yes, exactly! Small lifestyle changes do make all the difference. I don't like to "diet" either. I am really trying to reign in my portion sizes and I hope I will keep that up! Maybe you can get your convenience foods to work for you...I often recommend to people to hit the salad bar at Hy-Vee and load up on precut vegetables. You can put them in seperate containers and take them to go. Then, you can whip something up in no time at home! Salads, pasta, personal pizzas, are just some ideas.

Thanks for your comments.

I have some much trouble sticking to a "diets" and usually all I think about is food. Personally, I feel that I don't eat bad food. It's more about time and eating more frequently that's the key. Life is caotic and I surrender to convience foods. Bravo on losing more weight. Small changes for most make a big difference and it's more of a lifestyle instead of a diet. I hope you can reach your goal!

I want to say thank you for createing the " Ten-Week Challenge". My wife and I are each doing our own "Ten-Week Challenge" to become healthier and look better. Wow! It's working. Not only do we each feel better, but my wife looks fantastic.
On July 10th, we will be married for exactly 17 years, and I think she is as pretty now as she was the day in October, all those years ago, when I met her. So, thanks again. I hope your blog has reached-out and helped others.

Thank you for your input! Even the amount of exercise that you need to do for maintenance can be daunting sometimes. Whatever changes people decide to make, they need to realize they will have to hang in for the long haul. But as a former Weight Watcher's coach once said, "You are going to be fighting your weight problem your whole life, why not fight it at your goal weight." How true!

I do hope this can help people; that is my only reason for writing this. Even I feel bad sometimes when I can't live up to hyped claims about weight loss. Thanks for reading and sharing!

Thank you for putting up this blog! So many people see these claims and think that by eating less and exercising they to will lose 10 to 20 lbs a week. It's just not realistic, and I think the information from this blog could shed light on sometimes confusing topics like diets and weight loss. Small changes are the only way people can actually stick to losing weight in the long run.
